It’s been three years since Mercedes-Benz revealed the EQS Sedan, the electric-powered answer to its flagship S-Class Sedan. Over that short period, we’ve seen the EQS gradually evolve, expanding its range and battery capabilities as EV powertrains continue to develop.

The upcoming 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS proves that this electrified sedan has no intention of slowing down. With its most generous range numbers yet and more features than ever before, the new EQS proudly furthers Mercedes-Benz’s EV mission statement.

A Range of Possibility

Although there’s no increase in the physical size of the 2025 EQS’s battery, the battery capacity has increased from 108.4 kWh to 118 kWh. Recent developments in battery chemistry have allowed for a boosted energy storage capacity of 10% without altering the battery’s dimensions – a capability which Mercedes-Benz designed into the EQS from its inception.

That’s not the only factor expanding the EQS’s range: new regenerative braking software enables the sedan to recoup energy at a quicker rate. As a result, the brake discs in the EQS Sedan are utilized far less than in models with combustion engines, keeping them cleaner and more efficient. You’ll feel the difference while you’re driving, too; the 2025 EQS’s brake pedal has a sportier feel than before, with no extraneous motion.

Altogether, the stronger battery and regenerative braking feature contribute to an 11% range improvement for the EQS. Although the exact range estimates aren’t out yet, that means the EPA-estimated range could increase from 340 miles per charge to as many as 390. As it inches ever closer to an unprecedented 400 miles of estimated range, the Mercedes-Benz EQS is redefining long-range capability as we know it.

Feature Presentation

The 2025 EQS comes with its longest list of features yet, designed for your comfort. A massive, 56-inch MBUX Hyperscreen comes standard on all EQS models, stretching across your dashboard to create a connected, immersive visual experience. KEYLESS GO®® comes standard as well, enabling easy starting and locking. And the standard heat pump increases climate comfort and efficiency, utilizing waste heat from the electric drive and battery to heat the interior.

Mercedes-Benz’s standard of luxury applies to driver and passenger alike. That’s exemplified by this year’s expansion of rear comfort features. Optional Rear Comfort Package Plus executive seats now include angled footrests, allowing rear-seat passengers to sit more comfortably when the front seats are motored forward. Furthermore, the rear seat backrest can be tilted 38 degrees, and rear passengers can enjoy heated neck and shoulder areas.

A Star is Born

In addition to its range and feature enhancements, the 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS Sedan is receiving some subtle cosmetic refinements. Amongst them is a new standing star on the hood – perhaps a nod to the EQS’s status as a rising star for the luxury brand.

But the EQS Sedan has always been a sleekly designed vehicle. This year’s upgrades are all about quality-of-life enhancement, including a 400-mile-pushing range that will change the way you think about electric vehicle capabilities.

Meanwhile, here at Mercedes-Benz of Macon, we’re looking to change the way you drive. From the unparalleled sophistication of the C-Class Coupe to the aerodynamic E-Class Cabriolet, we’ll put you in a vehicle that pushes luxury performance to the limit while expanding the range of your comfort zone.
